"Teachers design, develop, and evaluate authentic learning experiences and assessments incorporating contemporary tools and resources to maximize content learning in context and to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes identified in the NETS-S."

Design or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning and creativity
Develop technology-enriched learning environments that enable all students to pursue their individual curiosities and become active participants in setting their own educational goals, managing their own learning, and assessing their own progress
Customize and personalize learning activities to address students' diverse learning styles, working strategies, and abilities using digital tools and resources
Provide students with multiple and varied formative and summative assessments aligned with content and technology standards, and use resulting data to inform learning and teaching

In chapter 1 of the Transforming Learning with New Technologies, the first section mentions how an inspiring elementary teacher named Anthony decided to begin cataloging online simulations and games for future students to engage in inquiry-based lessons. This skill is modeling for his students how to use digital-age technology to design, develop, and evaluate learning experiences. Students will have access to information and learning game opportunities presented by their teacher, thus maximizing the students' learning.

Also, chapter 1 mentions the use of virtual libraries, digital textbooks and e-readers, and digital teaching tools in the classroom. Virtual libraries offer social bookmarking tools allowing vast collection of resources that teachers and students can locate more efficiently. Digital textbooks and
e-readers expand the interactive reading opportunities in classrooms. Digital teaching tools allow teachers more chances to individualize instruction for students. As a teacher I can use these tools to develop and personalize learning experiences for my future students in their daily work.
